"GG No Re..."

GG
Oft times in both Starcraft  and WoW I have heard the phrase "gg" (good game). Although not necessarily exclusive to Blizzard games, I would have to say that I have heard it most within these. It may come as a congratulations after a duel, after a boss goes down, or after a character levels up. The expression that I wanted to write about today is very similar to the phrase gg.

The phrase "gg no re" emphasizes that what just transpired was in fact a good game, but that there will be no rematch. Imagine for a second that you just started a new character in WoW...
Character Select Screen
You get to chose the class you play, you pick a somewhat random race, and you click the random name generator. You are now in the World... of Warcraft. As you start a sparkly message box pops up that reads:
"Welcome traveler, as a part of your WoW experience you have been challenged with gaining as much experience as you can before you die. At the end of your lifetime you will be resurrected, and brought to a test. The level and experience you attain as well as your actions will help you and determine whether or not you get to live forever wearing epics, or whether you get to spend eternity in the Barrens wearing grays."
I'm sure that anyone put in this situation would try as hard as they could to gain experiences. They would want to prepare as much as they could for the test that lies ahead of them. Everyone would desire the greater reward of wearing epics for eternity as opposed to wearing greys in the Barrens and having to listen to continual Chuck Norris jokes.

In our life here on earth, we are faced with a similar situation. After we pass on from this life, there is no space left for us to gain experiences. In Alma chapter 34 verses 32-33 we read:

32. For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
33. And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.

I know that the purpose of this life is to gain experiences. We are to develop faith in Jesus Christ, repent of our sins, and be baptized and recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost by those holding the authority to do so. Our time here on earth is so precious. We want to progress and do all that we can before we are judged, and we want to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father instead of an eternity in the Barrens trade chat.
