Loot and Prayer: The Waiting Game

Good ol' Naxx
Anyone that is familiar with raiding in WoW knows that what you want doesn't always drop. I remember raiding Naxxaramas with my guild as a fury warrior and hoping for two handed weapons to drop. When the weapons did drop, I always lost the rolls and the weapons went to other players. I would seem to always get armor, and did well on the dps charts, but weapons would have made me so much better. As time went on I continued to raid, and as we farmed Nax I eventually got my weapons-- but it took time. It would have been very easy to just give up and quit, but that would not have given me the chance to get those weapons now would it?

As missionaries, we tend to ask people to pray quite a bit. That is something that I really enjoy about the message that we share...
Moroni Praying
You don't have to take our word for truth, but you can ask God and he will let you feel that the things we teach are true. Anyone that is familiar with prayer knows that when we pray we are literally speaking to God, our Father in Heaven. Heavenly Father is mindful of us, and wants us to progress, and to find answers to our prayers. Along the same lines as loot, receiving answers to prayers takes time. You don't just clear a raid instance once, win every drop, get fully geared up, and quit playing. Likewise, prayer takes time, and sometimes it is a long process that gets us to our answer!

So lets say you were placed in a situation where you wanted to pray to find an answer. What are some things that you could do to help you receive that answer? In Moroni 10: 4-5, Moroni gives a promise to all those who read the Book of Mormon and desire to know of its truthfulness through prayer. It states:
4. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would aask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not btrue; and if ye shall ask with a csincere heart, with dreal intent, having efaith in Christ, he will fmanifest the gtruth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may aknow the btruth of all things.
If we desire to get loot in game, it is requisite for us to continue to show up and perform in raids. On the other hand, to receive answers to prayer, we are asked to have a sincere heart, real intent, and faith in Christ. Keeping the commandments of God will also help us to receive answers to our prayers! Patience is a virtue, and I know that God will answer all those who sincerely ask, and have the faith requisite to reciecve answers to their prayers.

Keep on Praying!
