Divine Intervention

Paladin DI in Action
Before Cataclysm launched, paladins had a very unique ability called divine intervention. The ability allowed a player to sacrifice his life to place another in a protective bubble which lasted a couple three minutes. Why would this be important? Divine intervention coincided with the shaman "ankh", and provided a way for a raid to forgo the long run back to a boss while raiding. By one player sacrificing his life, the rest of the raid would be able to be in turn resurrected, just as long as the person "DI'ed" was able to rez.

Christ Laid Down His Life
The WoW ability divine intervention reminds me of our Savior Jesus Christ. In the Gospel of John 15:13 Christ says: "Greater alove hath no man than this, that a man lay down his blife for his cfriends." Just as the ability Divine Intervention is a selfless laying down of ones life, Christ similarly laid down his life for us. But why did he do it?  Throughout this blog, Theodore (formerly Elder) Butler and I have frequently mentioned Christ and the Atonement that he performed for us. One important thing that the Atonement does is to help us overcome spiritual and physical death. By Christ giving up his life on the cross and being resurrected on the third day, we will all be able to be resurrected. Being resurrected means that we will all be able to receive an immortal, glorified body of flesh and bones because of what Christ has done for us.

Now that's Divine Intervention!
