Guilds: The WoW Family

Guildees
A great addition in Cataclysm is the guild-leveling system. Long story short, as your guild progresses and does things together experience is gained. After so long the guild levels up, and the guild gets new perks, such as increased experience while leveling or cool items. Although I haven't experienced Cataclysm play yet, the guild leveling system was something I looked forward to as it was announced back in Wrath.

Any WoW player can tell you that a having a guild is important to progression in the game. To me, being unguilded feels as if there is no one by your side...
There's no guild chat or achievement spam, and if you want to group with somebody your left to the cold cruel world of LFG or trade chat. If you want to do pve, being in a pve-centered guild is probably your best bet. It makes sense logically to group with players of similar interest and ability. The same applies for players that want to pvp, or it can even go farther into "casual" vs. "hardcore" players or even a leveling guild. I know for myself, there have been a mixture of guilds that have felt like home, with players that were friendly and fun to be with. On the other hand, there have been the not so desirable guilds that you stay in for a day or two and decide to leave.
RL Family
The guild in WoW draws many parallels to the family unit here irl (in real life). In WoW the guild is byfar the most important social unit within the game. The same is true for our families here on earth. I know that they are ordained of God, and that we are set in our families for a reason. All guilds are not perfect, but it is the same with the family. Therefore, both of these units are always trying to improve themselves. All members of these units play a vital role within the group. There are the leaders and officers that mirror our earthly parents, and those younger 'members' that support their leaders. I know that the gospel (Jesus Christ and his teachings) are best taught, learned, and applied within the family. The same would be true of pve boss strategies, or similar things in pvp. Much in the same way that a guild helps its members (especially with the new guild-leveling system), and members enhance the guild, I know that we are blessed by our family here on earth, and we are priceless additions to our families. I also know that God is our loving Heavenly Father.
