AoE French Toast

"We'll make it to Laurel... Someday!"
Every six weeks as a missionary, we have the opportunity to transfer from the area in which we serve. I love transfers and being able to travel through the state, and seeing all the other missionaries serving in their respected areas. Yesterday I got on a members van to travel from Missoula to Laurel, Montana and on the way we encountered a wild Elder Theodore Butler and his companion Elder Freeman. Lols ensued.

French Toast-- Yummy Breakfast or AoE damage in Disguise
So we met up at this restaurant named The Hanging 5 or something like that in Butte, Montana (yes, there actually is a town named Butte) to have breakfast. We all ordered, and Elder Butler got some French toast with a fruit and whipped cream topping. (This is important-- listen up) The order came, and soon the French toast's topping was half on the table and a quarter on Elder Butler's pants and a quarter on the floor. I was sitting next to Elder Butler, so I of course absorbed some of the AoE French toast's damage. Those unfamiliar to WoW might want to note that AoE means Area of Effect. Although most of the RL (real life) French toast AoE hit the floor and table's edge, both Elder Butler and I received some damage to our pants...

Rise Above Mediocrity: Stop Keyboard Turning and S-Keying

Movement in WoW is a big thing! Imagine running away from a huge group of Alliance that is running towards you. Maybe your first instinct would be to use the s-key, which moves your character backwards. Or then again, a better answer might be to use the "a" or "d" keys to turn around, and then use the "w" key to run away. Both would work if you were trying to get away, but they are not the best answer!

So what is the best answer? How do we get away from enemy players or mobs that are trying to harm us without backpedaling slowly using the s-key? Or how can we turn faster than using the "a" or "d" keys? The answer is very simple!..

"She Called Me A Troll..."

Its WoW (not gang signs!)
So believe it or not, there was once a time when Elder Butler and I were companions as missionaries (see having a friend=Missionary companionship). We had some pretty good experiences together, and I remember this one instance in which Elder Butler and I were trying to teach this guy in Billings (we'll just call him Joe). Suffice it to say that Joe was a pretty interesting guy... So we were talking to him, and he started to go a bit off topic and tell us about this girl. Yada, yada, yada, and he said something that really made us giggle inside due to the fact that we are WoW fanboys. Joe said "...She called me a troll man!"

You might be asking yourself, "Why would Elder Butler and Elder Cabral laugh at this poor man, who had just been called a troll?" The answer is quite simple, although there is more than one meaning to the word troll...

"Cry Moar Scrub"

It seems that I've been writing quite a bit about WoW terms recently! Hopefully this does not disappoint anyone, but I feel the need to write about another. The term, as you can see from the title is "Cry Moar (More) Scrub". The term is quite straightforward, but the context of its use is quite particular to WoW. Say for example someone is getting ganked and wants help from other players. They'll spam chat and say, "HALP I IZ GETTING GANKED!"  The usual nice person (or RPer [role player{c wut i did ther?}]) would say "I will certainly come to thy aid kind sir and vanquish the Alliance scum, which are running rampant in yonder regions!" On the other hand any normal PVPer would say something like "Cry moar scrub! L2P (learn to play)!"

Sympathy isn't meted out much in WoW, but players who respond with the phrase "Cry moar scrub" do have a point...

The Cataclysm: A Whole New Blog

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

In my very limited knowledge of blogs I have seen that sometimes blog authors start off their blogs by explaining a little of what the purpose of their blog is. Hopefully this will give a great introduction to our purpose in writing, and how it all came about.

This new WoW blog has sprung up from the ideas of two Mormon missionaries who were once companions (2v2 arena partners) in the Montana Billings Mission. Once upon a time the world event of transfers was going on...
